MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him break into mainstream Latin music. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. In Medellin in 2017, Sony's La Industria Inc. released ADN his debut long player. In the Top Latin Albums chart ranked ADN at the 8th spot. The following year, he teamed up with Ozuna to record Vaina Loca which reached number five on the chart of Top Latin Albums. The group released Dopamina the chart-topping sophomore album the year following. In 2021 he recorded an duet with TINI's popular track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo has an instrumental background. Both his mother and elder brother are musicians. In interviews, Turizo has said that music is essential. When he was young, he taught to perform on the guitar, piano and ukulele. Although his first choice of career was to become a veterinarian the brother Julian advised him to go for lessons in singing with an Cuban instructor and as a result personally discovering his talent as a singer altered his entire life.
